A day in the life of Hashim

Digital Transformation Officer

Career background:

I joined Spectrum from another NHS healthcare provider, where I learnt so much about the industry and developed a passion for it. Spectrum gave me an opportunity to take the next step and build on what I had learnt and get involved in exciting digital projects.

What do you love about working at Spectrum?

The trust in you to get on with your work, and the no-blame culture. There’s also loads of opportunities to develop and make a difference.

Why do you recommend others work at Spectrum?

It’s a healthcare organisation which is focused on people’s recovery, and being part of that is extremely rewarding.

Top tips for working at Spectrum:

Even though people are hard at work, they are usually still happy to help; there are people with a lot of knowledge to pass on, so don’t be shy to learn from them!

Something you wish you’d known before starting at Spectrum:

More about the prison healthcare system, in particular. It’s quite unique and takes some getting used to. Fascinating though!

This is what a day in the life of a Digital Transformation Officer can look like:

It depends on what I have on. Once I log in, I go through my emails, ticking off any quick jobs that have come through. If I have meetings coming up in morning, I will do my final preparations for that. Otherwise, I will action all the tasks from projects that have been assigned to me. I make sure I have my lunch break away from my desk at a time of my choosing, so I get refreshed properly. Then if I have meeting coming up in the afternoon, I will do my final preparations for that, or action any tasks I might have.
